Good morning!
Chances are, you've seen our announcements on social media (if you haven’t, go check them out!) — Bowtreader is going on the road! We got all of our 3D targets loaded last week, the snack menu is almost finished, and in less than a month our targets will line the Savannah River for our most epic shoot yet!
If you have ever been to a 3D shoot of ours, imagine that… but with water and potential for some pretty crazy shots!
We're proud to be partnering with Savannah Riverkeeper for this event. They share many of our values about preserving wildlife and getting people active, which makes them a joy to work with! If you've never heard of them, definitely check out their website to see more of what they're all about
Their cause is to preserve the environment in and around the Savannah River Basin. The Savannah River is beautiful, ranging nearly 400 miles past a few cities and broad jungle of rich marshy areas. Unfortunately, a lot of pollution goes into it day by day, but Savannah Riverkeeper actively combats that.
Wildlife preservation is key — you all should know by now that we think one of the best ways to preserve wildlife is by respectfully enjoying it! As we frequently quote from Genesis 1:26, God created the earth for humans to take care of and enjoy — many times the best way to care for it is to enjoy it.
Savannah Riverkeeper strives not only to protect this beautiful vessel, but to get people in it! Hosting Bowtreader is one of the many ways they are encouraging people to get outdoors, along with allowing plenty of fun activities on the river like kayaking, swimming, fishing, camping, biking, and, our favorite, bow fishing!
One of the Savannah River Keeper’s primary focuses is to help everyone, from children to local business owners, become aware of ways to keep the river clean. Right now they are in production of a resource center complete with meeting places and classrooms to educate their community about the outdoors before they send them off.
In many ways, that job is ours too — to make sure you know everything you need to succeed in your outdoor endeavors. We all love creation much more when we have a better understanding of it and how to treat it best!
All of these values are vital — what better way to see all of them at work than with a great time practicing our skills on the river?
On our 3D tour, you can expect to learn about the outdoors and shooting techniques. It's not a competition… but most parties who make their way through end up kindling a friendly rivalry with the others. You can bet there will be good food, and maybe even spontaneous giveaways for people who show mad skills!
We look forward to both educating new and existing archers, enjoying the beautiful river as we all support this organization that helps ensure we keep it clean, eating because nothing works up an appetite quite like archery, and enhancing our abilities through plenty of conditioning and practice.
Whether you want to show off your skills, learn some new ones, get acclimated to the sport, or just find a fun way to support a local organization with your family, we hope to see you there!

The weather isn’t the only thing that can change in a matter of minutes in Georgia — each shot is different from the last one and they just keep getting more epic!
