Welcome back folks and happy Small Business Saturday!
All of the small businesses around town are finally prepared (including us) for this special day so we’ll make the weekly update short. Here it is: Thanksgiving was wonderful, we are still thankful, and Jesus’ birthday is on its way!
This week we were closed but our grand Christmas opening today is going to be filled with plenty of little surprises and sales for the upcoming season. You don’t want to miss what is happening around town today.
The farmer’s market is about to get rolling and so are small businesses. If there was ever a perfect day for you to surf the local area to see people and pick up a few gifts, this would be it!
Small Business Saturday is a day when small businesses mark deals in preparation for one of our favorite holidays: Christmas!
It's a great chance to support places you may or may not visit on a normal occasion — and it's a fun time of celebration for customers and businesses alike.
While similar to Black Friday, there are a few key differences that set Small Business Saturday apart.
The first one is that Small Business Saturday focuses on making a lasting connection with people in the area, rather than just lowering prices for a quick buck. The connection is key — it's a celebration rather than simply a sale.
Customers play a bigger role than just a number in the “revenue” column. You are a very special part of the businesses today!
Second, small businesses support each other on this day by sending people to their fellows so customers can find exactly what they are looking for. This is a day that small businesses all play on the same team.
Rather than competing, they are promoting each other — and if that creates anything, it creates community.
Third, Small Business Saturday is about thankfulness, not greed. When you show up to a small business today, you are showing your thankfulness for them.
It's not just about tumbling over people to get a crazy deal on something — you are supporting real people. We can speak for all of the small businesses of this town when we say we are thankful for you too!
Finally, Small Business Saturday is amazing because you will likely learn about at least one business you have never heard of — and today is the perfect excuse to try it!
There are hidden gems in every town waiting to be found. And trust us, they can have more to offer than you think!
Don’t get us wrong, Black Friday is alright, but Small business Saturday is a very special day to us.
From the beginning it has been a great time to have our extended customer-family at the store to celebrate the year of growth together. Sure, it's a good time for sales too, but what we really look forward to is the people.
We can’t wait to see you on this day, and send you to our favorite small businesses in town for you to try!
P. S. also today, let’s just say the fall fever has finally left and we have new Christmas decorations out. If for nothing else, come by to see our Christmas tree and a furry friend we have hanging around… you won’t be disappointed!!
